"GreyMatters provides VIP service for our 3 year old rescue Carl. GreyMatters is truly the only place we feel safe leaving Carl when are out of town, and can totally relax knowing he is under expert and compassionate supervision.
Kathy is the Greyhound Queen - she understand’s Carl’s quirks, including his phobia of shiny floors, and loves him for it. She is so skilled in her understanding of Greyhounds that she knows specifically which other dogs Carl, who is lovably intrusive and doesn’t understand his size, is best suited to play with in the yard. GreyMatters provides highly reliable, punctual service. We love being able to check the private Instagram account to see frequent updates on Carl’s adventures with the other guests when we are out of town. Carl loves his spacious run and is always excited to arrive and socialize with the other guests. We appreciate the attention to detail and safety, including requirements for providing vaccination status of the dogs, as well as requiring muzzles when playing in the perfectly fenced yard. We will only take Carl to GreyMatters for his “vacations” when we are away!" Meg, Adam and Carl

"When we adopted our greyhound, we had owned dogs for many years and thought we were well prepared. We soon realized that greyhounds are a unique breed, and we were struggling with initial medical and behavioral issues when our rescue group directed us to Kathy at Grey Matters. We are so glad they did, because Kathy really helped us understand greyhounds as a breed and learn how to be better leaders for our rambunctious boy Niles.
Kathy’s way of working with people and dogs inspires confidence and gets great results without resorting to the harsh methods that had turned us off with previous trainers. We enjoyed our one-on-one and group training classes and learned so much! (Who knew our long-legged noodle horse was indeed capable of sitting?!) We were thrilled to learn that she offers boarding too. It’s great to know that Niles is in the best possible hands when we travel, and it’s always fun to stop by and see what’s new at the kennel! We highly recommend Kathy and Grey Matters to any fellow greyhound owner." Bethany, Andrew and Niles

"We began boarding our greyhound, Rita, almost 5 years ago, and came to know Kathy and the regular boarders quite well. We were immediately impressed by the cleanliness of the facility and the spacious well-maintained yard for the dogs to play in, but most importantly, the genuine care and canine expertise – particularly of the quirks or greyhounds — of the staff. We appreciated that muzzles are used during playtime as our previous dog had been badly nipped at another facility which did not muzzle. Rita was always thrilled to go to greyhound “camp” and we felt so blessed to have that peace of mind whenever we traveled. Soon after the pandemic began, Rita became suddenly ill and died at the age of 7. We were beyond heartbroken, and let Kathy know. She was so empathetic. We told her that we wanted to adopt again but because of our age thought we might be wiser to go for a smaller breed even though greyhounds would always be our preference. Shortly thereafter, she alerted us to a small, quiet greyhound she was temporarily fostering. She knew us well enough to know our personalities and lifestyles, and we paid a visit the next day. Kathy could not have been a better matchmaker. Zena has been a perfect fit for our lives and loves going to Grey Matters as much as Rita did. We love seeing the regular Instagram posts of her and the others frolicking while we are away. We enrolled her in the Grey Matters obedience class not because she was disobedient, but honestly in part as a fun activity for us that we could do when Covid was still greatly limiting our options. The training proved to be both fun and immensely helpful – Zena earned her graduation cap and now practices her commands daily thanks to Kathy’s instruction. It has made us better owners. We can honestly say that having Grey Matters in our lives has been a major perk of being greyhound owners!" Susan, Ralph and Zena
"Our sweet girl, Brena, has spent probably one-fourth of her life after adoption with Kathy at Grey Matters. We have to spell K-a-t-h-y because, if she hears “Kathy,” she goes berserk, stands by our elevator whining, ready to go. She can’t wait to get to Kathy’s! AND she doesn’t want to leave Kathy when we pick her up. Nothing could make us happier. Complete peace of mind! We go out of town knowing that Brena is having a wonderful vacation, also. Since Brena is an only dog, her social time with Kathy’s sweet hounds and boarders is important. She absolutely loves other Greyhounds, and it warms our hearts watching her interact with them. We are beyond grateful for Kathy!! On a scale of 1 to 10, we give Grey Matters a 12!! Barb, Rich and Brena
"Grey Matters has truly been a lifesaver for me. After weeks of trying to get my girl over her fear of stairs, I finally sought the help of Kathy (and Ari). It took Kathy less than one hour of working with my dog before she was conquering stairs like a pro.
Using Grey Matters for boarding is one of the reasons I literally will not leave Atlanta. I travel frequently for work and board my dog with Grey Matters every time. Knowing there is a place where the unique needs and temperaments of Greyhounds are expertly known gives me an enormous sense of peace leaving my dog in Kathy's care. My hound is not particularly fond of other dogs and yet, at Grey Matters she runs and plays with the other Greyhounds, having the time of her life.
Probably my biggest testament to Grey Matters is that every time I say to my girl "You wanna go to Kathys?" she jumps up and down with excitement and nearly drags me out to my car." Ryan & Goose

"We have had our boy Ron since 2014 when we adopted him off the track from AAGHA. We used a number of different general dog boarding places around Atlanta, but each time we would get back an injured and traumatized Ron. We discovered GreyMatters in 2017 and have boarded Ron with Kathy dozens of times since. Whether it's a short weekend trip or a month long adventure, Ron has always come back happy and unharmed. Kathy takes the time to learn each dogs personality and socializes them with like dogs, muzzles on for safety of course, and she even made his stay more comfortable adding mats in his enclosure since she noticed Ron doesn't like slick floors. The facility is impeccably clean, and Kathy truly loves the dogs she is entrusted with. There is no other business I would board our boy Ron at, and we're thankful to have found GreyMatters when we did." Andrew, Anna, and Ron
“I have been bringing my two Greyhounds to Kathy at GreyMatters for just about as long as I’ve had them and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. My dogs have stayed with Kathy for both short and long visits many times. Kathy updates me regularly, is always on top of any special medical needs and I know they’re getting great socialization and plenty of exercise. I love that Kathy knows the breed and treats all the guests like she does her own Greys. Plus, she’s always sure to post photos of my dogs so I know what they are up to. I wouldn’t trust my girls anywhere else.” Sarah, NASA and Lyra
"A pet owner always feels guilty when they have to leave a pet behind, but because our Greyhounds are excited and happy when they arrive at GreyMatters we feel much better about it. It's reassuring to know that our dogs are being cared for by someone who knows Greyhounds so well and at a place where they can safely interact with other Greys. I love that they are given treats like kongs with yummy filling and special treats like pumpkin on Thanksgiving. If your Grey is there for their birthday, don't worry, GreyMatters will celebrate with them. And you can always feel part of the festivities by following along on Instagram." "We have been boarding with Kathy for a long time – it’s probably been over 6 years now. Our Greyhounds come home happy after their stay at Grey Matters (which we call Greyhound camp!). We can go out of town worry free knowing that they are being taken care of by a pro. The kennels are super clean, and Kathy has a lovely shaded back yard to do zoomies in or to have a lie down in a sunny spot Emma has for sure done both. Every greyhound has their own personality and Kathy provides individual attention. Sometimes Emma comes with special food or meds and we can be sure she is taken care of.
We really miss Emma when we are gone so we love seeing what she has been up to by checking the awesome posts on Instagram, we will show her photo to anyone that is around us! It makes us feel so good she is in a safe, caring environment. Retired racing Greyhounds are special, so we appreciate that Grey Matters is Greyhound only boarding. Dropping off and picking up and is easy and I enjoy chatting about how Emma did and getting advice on Greyhound things – Grey Matters – Kathy is an invaluable resource we highly recommend Grey Matters for boarding your hound.
